Arriving to Prague by Train or Bus

All international trains arrive either at Praha hlavni nadrazi (main train station) or at Praha Holesovice. The main train station is located only a few minutes from Prague's city centre. At both stations you can find money exchange offices, tourist information offices and a left language service. You are also able to book accommodation through some agencies here. Remember, in summer the international trains tend to be full and you should book your seat at least a few weeks ahead. If you are arriving by bus you're most likely to terminate your journey at the main bus terminal Praha Florenc (see Florenc Map ). This bus terminal is about 15 minutes from the city centre, situated on the eastern edge of the New Town, it is easily accessible by tube (yellow line B and red line C) and trams. The bus terminal also has a left language facility and some exchange offices. Bus is the cheapest way to travel across Europe. The Czech Republic provides connections from/to major European cities several times a week. To see more info about buses in Prague - click here.

Where Arrive International Trains?  All International trains arrive at the Main or Holesovice Stations. Both are located on the C line of the subway and are served by several tram lines.

Prague Train Station: Be aware of that area! Many homeless and  people with "criminal history" hang around there. Prague Train station is shame for PRAGUE!

Coming from Germany into Prague was a bummer. The Germans run their grimy old trains out of the country. As the train got closer and closer, the scenery got worse and worse. Crumbled old bldgs., Deterioration, unkempt lawns, you name it, it went straight down hill. Didn't the commies do anything? That's what I thought when we got to the train station. Didn't the commies ever use a hose to wash things down? Prague's train station is more filthy than most Grey Hound Bus Stations. Hey, did you ever been to the old one in San Francisco? That's how bad Prague's train station was, if not worse.

Watch out for pickpockets. They usually Acting in groups and target trams, metros and other crowded places. Be particularly careful on trams 14, 17, 22 and 23.

Don't hail taxis on the street. Either ask a Czech person to call you a cab or call one of the city's more reputable English-speaking companies.
